Establishment of Healthcare-Associated Infections Surveillance Program
Provide expert guidance to define the scope of healthcare-associated infections (HAI) surveillance, and train healthcare workers. Educate the IPC committee on HAI investigation and management.
Conducting disease outbreak investigation and management by sufficiently assessing the situation to confirm the outbreak and work with the teams to effectively and efficiently respond to the outbreak.
IPC and Quality Improvement Capacity Building
Assessment of healthcare facilities on infection prevention and control standards using standardized tools to analyze the data, generate report, and, develop an action plan.
Training of health and care workers on infection prevention and control for different groups including IPC trainers of trainees, other healthcare workers, and support staff. IPC training is tailored to your facility’s needs for both clinical and non-clinical staff and in line with the Ministry of Health IPC curriculum. The training includes both theory and practical sessions to reinforce learning and provide experiential learning.
Training and implementation of infection prevention and control quality improvement process. The quality improvement activities are focused on multimodal strategy and use of the Plan Do Study Act cycle.
Provide onsite and virtual on-the-job mentorship to IPC committees, healthcare workers, and individuals on the implementation of IPC activities.
Preparation of healthcare facilities for accreditation and certification through engagement of facility leadership to set the required infrastructure for facility accreditation and certification. Assess the facility and guide on gap closure
Establishment of IPC Complementary Programs
Provide technical support in the formation of:
Occupational safety and health (OSH) program through collaboration with the facility management to conduct a facility risk assessment, and constitute and train the facility OSH committee with terms of reference.
Patient safety program through collaboration with the hospital management set up the patient safety program and develop the required policies, guidelines, and standard operating procedures. Develop a monitoring and evaluation system for patient safety incidents.
Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) surveillance and Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS) programs by collaborating with the facility management to set up an antimicrobial resistance surveillance system and antimicrobial stewardship program and strain the facility teams.
